  • The ENA Department of Emergency Nursing Research must approve the study before the link can be posted or a mailing list can be purchased.
  • Documents submitted must be in final form and should not include handwritten study information, tracked changes, comments, etc.
  • All study-related materials must be submitted to ENR@ena.org for approval. The subject line of the email should read “External Research Request.
  • Approvals are generally completed within one calendar week.
  • Marketing research studies are not eligible.
  • ENA reserves the right to deny any request that may be in direct conflict with standards, policies, and offerings sponsored, or presented, by the ENA or its affiliates.
Post Research Study Links
  1. You must be an ENA member. Join Now!
    • COVID-19 research: PIs can ask to have this requirement waived.
  2. The ENA Department of Emergency Nursing Research must approve the study before the link can be posted.
  3. The following information and materials MUST be submitted to ENA:
    • Start and end dates for the link to be posted. Unless stated otherwise, a) the start date will be within one calendar week after approval has been granted, and b) the end date will be no greater than three months from the start date.
    • All surveys that will be used in the study.
    • The full research proposal that includes a description of how subject confidentiality will be maintained.
    • The study cover letter.
    • IRB approval letter.
    • The consent form (if applicable).
    • The link(s) to the study.
  4. Study cover letter information should be built into the survey in the first screen participants see, when possible.
  5. Approvals are generally completed within one calendar week. An email will be sent to you confirming your approval once your link has been posted to the ENA website.
  6. All study links posted to this page are listed in alphabetical order by study title. No other study information will be listed on the ENA website.

Purchase Research Mailing Lists

ENA offers two mailing lists to help you target your research subjects. The ENA Membership database contains more than 45,000 names and addresses of ENA members. The ED Managers Database contains approximately 5,000 emergency department addresses.

  1. Mailing lists are good only for the submitted study. Additional research studies require full review by ENA following the same submission process.
  2. Mailing lists are for postal addresses only. ENA does not sell email addresses.
  3. Mailing lists may not be reproduced, sold or used for any other purpose than that stated on the order form.
  4. List rental fees are $175 per 1,000 addresses or any part thereof - for example, the fee for 1,125 addresses would be $350.
    • ENA members receive a 15 percent discount on the rental fee. This discount does not apply to other list management and delivery fees charged by ENA's vendor, InFocus Marketing. The fee list is available here.
  5. The following information and materials MUST be submitted to ENA:
    • All surveys that will be used in the study.
    • The full research proposal that includes a description of how subject confidentiality will be maintained.
    • Recruitment documents, such as letter or postcard. These items must include the following statement: Your name and address were obtained via purchase of a mailing list from ENA.
    • IRB approval letter.
    • The consent form (if applicable).
    • The link(s) to the study.

Dissemination of Study Findings

All researchers are encouraged to submit their findings for publication in the Journal of Emergency Nursing and as a proposal for a presentation at ENA's annual conference.
