ENA Foundation's Impact Funds Help Donors Change Lives Today, Not Tomorrow

You can have an immediate impact on funding the future of emergency nursing

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (Sept. 14, 2022) – The ENA Foundation proudly revamped a giving opportunity for donors that accelerates the impact of their donations by making funds more accessible to applicants. Donors can now help change lives more directly.

“The Impact Funds are great for donors who are looking to have a significant effect,” said ENA Foundation Chairperson Jeff Solheim, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, CFRN, FAEN, FAAN. “Someone who donates to an impact fund can be proud that their money is directly supporting an emergency nurse who is advancing their education or advancing the profession through research.”

Impact Funds have fewer restrictions than traditional endowments, which take longer to establish and can only use interest earned. Impact Fund donations can be dispersed in a shorter timeframe based on the donor’s wishes.

“The Impact Funds are great for scholarship and grant applicants too,” said Solheim. “These folks looking for assistance will have money quicker than through a traditional endowment.”

A donor who chooses to give to an impact fund has the opportunity to name the scholarship or grant and may replenish the fund at their discretion. The ENA Foundation is accepting donations for its Impact Funds between $20,000-$100,000.
