ENA's Cultural Exchange Program

Returns in October 2019 for a trip to the Netherlands and Sweden. One group of up to 50 participants will get a glimpse into healthcare in each country. ENA is partnering with Fellowship Travel International on the travel logistics of this trip. 


Dates: Sunday, October 13 - Wednesday, October 23, 2019

Travel Options:

Both options include all ENA sponsored activities as outlined in the Itinerary

Option 1: Full Trip (includes flights to all destinations, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation)

Option 2: Land Only (includes hotel accommodations, flight between Amsterdam and Stockholm, and ground transportation*)

* Ground transport from airports to hotels will be the responsibility of those who select the land only option if the traveler's flights do not align with the group flight itinerary. 

Pricing: The pricing is based upon our group travel rate and double occupancy in each room. In order to preserve the fixed rates listed below we cannot allow flight deviations on the full trip option. However, we are offering a land only option for individuals that would like to book their own air travel to the first listed destination and subsequent return air travel. Should you need assistance booking a flight to John F. Kennedy Airport, our travel partner, Fellowship Travel International can assist.

In order to secure your spot on this trip a deposit of $350 is required by May 31, 2019


Additional Information:

  • Should we reach our threshold of 50 participants, we will begin a wait list and those individuals will be notified of their status. 
  • This trip must meet a minimum of 20 Full Trip registrants to proceed.
  • All pricing listed for both the Full Trip and Land Only options are based on room sharing. There is an additional fee for a single occupancy room.
  • You will have the opportunity to indicate a preferred roommate on your registration form. If you do not indicate a preferred roommate, we will do our best to match you with another traveler. However, if we are unable to match you with another traveler you may incur the single room fee listed.

Full Trip departs from JFK Airport in New York. All travelers are required to arrive at least three hours prior to scheduled departure for international travel. Should you need assistance in booking travel from your location to JFK Airport, please indicate on your travel registration form and you will be contacted. 



Optional Excursions (additional fees)



Edam Tour (Full-Day)

  • Tuesday, October 15, 2019
  • Excursion to Zaanse-Schans, Volendam, and Edam
  • Cost: $76.50 per person

Visit the open-air museum in Zaanse-Schans where you will see a variety of windmills that can also be visited form the inside. Take a look over the clog-makers shoulders or buy fresh Dutch cheese. Continue to Volendam on the ljsselmeer. Volendam is a picturesque fishing village with the typical little houses, canals, and drawbridges. After a short stay, the journey continues to Edam. Just like Alkmaar, Edam also enjoys the international reputation as a cheese town. Only few people are aware of the fact that Edam is one of the best preserved cities of the former Zuiderzee.


Kinderdijk Tour (Full-Day)

  • Excursion to Kinderdijk, Delft, and Gouda
  • Cost: $89.00 per person

Visit Kinderdijk - the so-called "mill road." The windmills of Kinderdijk are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see 19 windmills near the village of Kinderdijk, about 15 kilometers southwest of Rotterdam. There are two large groups of 8 mills in the east and 8 mills in the southeast of the village. One of the mills can also be visited from the inside (optional). Afterwards the journey continues to Delft. Explore the wonderful old town with its approx. 600 historical buildings and dozens of idyllic little bridges and canals. Not to be missed: a visit of a porcelain manufactory (optional), where the famous "Delft Blue" is produced. In the early afternoon continue to Gouda, the city of cheese, syrup wafers and the candles, but also the city of the pipes of Gouda, the ceramics, this historical monuments and listed facades. Visit monuments like the Gothic town hall from 1450 in the old town center or the St. Jan's Church which is world famous for its beautiful 15th century stained-glass windows. Of course, a visit of a cheese dairy (optional) is recommended in order to take the famous Gouda. 


Canal Tour (1-hour, non-private)

This hour-long cruise takes you through the unique UNESCO World Heritage-listed canal district of Amsterdam, giving you the opportunity to take in many of the historic sights of the city center.



Drottningholm Tour 

  • Saturday, October 19, 2019
  • Cost: $65.24 per person

Step aboard a boat from the turn of the last century and take a trip to the pearl of Lake Malaren, Drottningholm Palace, the residence of the Swedish royal family. Drottningholm is set in luxuriant landscaped grounds and Drottningholm Palace Theatre is a piece of genuine Swedish cultural history, the Chinese Pavilion a work of art constructed by the hands of master craftsmen. 


Vaxholm Tour

  • Sunday, October 20, 2019
  • Cost: $46.23 per person

Roundtrip cruise in the archipelagos, with a stop at Vaxholm. Idyllic archipelago town with many well-preserved wooden houses from the turn of the last century painted in the archipelago's typical pastel tones. Vaxholm has numerous charming restaurants, cafes, and shops.
