Scholarships

research_grants_body_400To further advance the profession of emergency nursing, the ENA Foundation is proud to offer dozens of educational scholarships annually. Academic scholarships are available for education ranging from associate to doctoral degrees. The Foundation also provided 43 conference scholarships for nurses to attend ENA’s annual conference.

ENA Foundation Scholarships

Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Undergraduate Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN). The mission of the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing is to certify nurses who provide emergency nursing across the emergency care continuum.

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to an emergency nurse with a current BCEN credential (CEN, CPEN, CFRN, CTRN, or TCRN) who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.

 

Number of Awards: Eight (8)
Amount of Award: $2,000 each
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

Charles Kunz Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship is named in memory of Charles Kunz, father of 2005 ENA President, Patricia Kunz Howard, PhD, RN, CEN, CPEN, NE-BC, FAEN. The scholarship is intended for current emergency nurses pursuing a higher level of education (RN to BSN).

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to a registered nurse who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Applicant must be a current registered nurse and meet all standard eligibility requirements.

Number of Awards: One (1)
Amount of Award: $3,000 each
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

Elizabeth B. Moore Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship is named in memory of ENA lifetime member Elizabeth “Betty” B. Moore, (1929-2014). Betty was an early ENA member and an advocate for continuing education who always gave back to others through her community and medical mission trips. She was also a mentor to many.

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate nursing student who demonstrates interest and merit in emergency nursing as well as financial need. Applicants do not need to be members of ENA but must provide a letter of reference from a current ENA member. This scholarship is eligible for renewal.

 

Number of Awards: One (1)
Amount of Award: $5,000

Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

ENA Foundation Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by the ENA Foundation. This scholarship is intended for current emergency nurses pursuing a higher level of education (RN to BSN).

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to a nurse who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Applicant must be a current registered nurse and meet all standard eligibility requirements.

 

Number of Awards: Four (4)
Amount of Award: $3,000 each   
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

ENA Foundation Undergraduate State Challenge Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by the ENA Foundation through the 2016 ENA Foundation State Fundraising Challenge. This scholarship is intended for current emergency nurses pursuing a higher level of education (RN to BSN).

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to a nurse who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing.Applicant must be a current registered nurse and meet all standard eligibility requirements.

 

Number of Awards: One (1)
Amount of Award: $2,500
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

New York Empire State Undergraduate State Challenge Scholarship

Funding for this scholarship is made possible by the generosity of the New York ENA State Council and members through the 2016 ENA Foundation State Fundraising Challenge. This scholarship is intended for current emergency nurses pursuing a higher level of education (RN to BSN).

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to a nurse who iis pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Applicants must be current registered nurses and meet all standard eligibility requirements.

 

Number of Awards: Two (2)
Amount of Award: $2,500 each
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

Physio-Control, Inc. Undergraduate Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by Physio-Control, Inc. Physio-Control pioneered defibrillation technology over 50 years ago and is the world’s leading provider of external defibrillators for the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to a registered nurse who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.

Amount of Award: $2,000
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

Walden University Undergraduate Scholarship
Support for this scholarship is provided by Walden University. Walden University, an accredited institution, has been serving the higher education needs of adult learners for 45 years.

 

Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to a registered nurse who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing at any accredited institution. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.
