research_grants_body_400To further advance the profession of emergency nursing, the ENA Foundation is proud to offer dozens of educational scholarships annually. Academic scholarships are available for education ranging from associate to doctoral degrees. The Foundation also provided 43 conference scholarships for nurses to attend ENA’s annual conference.

ENA Foundation Scholarships

Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Doctoral Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) organization. This scholarship is awarded to an emergency nurse with a current BCEN credential (CEN, CPEN, CFRN, CTRN or TCRN) who is pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing.

 

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their emergency nursing career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.

 

Number of Awards: Two (2)
Amount of Award: $5,000 each 
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

ENA Foundation Endowed Doctoral Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by the ENA Foundation. This scholarship is awarded to a current nurse RN) who is pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing.

 

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their emergency nursing career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.

 

Number of Awards: Three (3)
Amount of Award: $5,000 each
Submission Deadline: April 28, 2017
Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

ENA Foundation Member Supported Doctoral Scholarship
Funding for this scholarship is made possible through the generosity of the ENA Foundation donations collected through the ENA membership dues. This scholarship is awarded to an emergency nurse who is pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing.

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their emergency nursing career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.

Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017
ENA Foundation State Challenge Doctoral Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a current nurse (RN) who is pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing (PhD or DNP). Funding for this scholarship is made possible through the generosity of those who contributed to the 2016 ENA Foundation State Fundraising Challenge.

 

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their emergency nursing career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.

Hill-Rom Doctoral Scholarship
Support for this scholarship is provided by Hill-Rom. Hill-Rom is a leading manufacturer and provider of medical technologies and services for the healthcare industry, including patient support systems, non-invasive therapeutic products, medical equipment rentals and information technology. This scholarship is awarded to an emergency nurse (RN) pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing (PhD or DNP).

 

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

 

Number of Awards: Three (3)
Amount of Award: $4,000 each

Recipient Notified: After August 1, 2017

Nurses Service Organization (NSO) Doctoral Scholarship

Support for this scholarship is provided by Nurses Service Organization (NSO). NSO is the nation's largest provider of nurses professional liability insurance coverage, with over 550,000 nursing professionals insured. This scholarship is awarded to an emergency nurse pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing.

 

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Pamela Stinson Kidd Memorial Doctoral Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Pamela Kidd by the ENA Board of Directors and the ENA Foundation Board of Trustees. Pam was a longtime member of ENA and served on the ENA Board of Directors and was an exemplary educator and nurse researcher who mentored many nurses. This scholarship, named in her honor, is funded by general donations received by the ENA Foundation and through multiple annual fundraising campaigns. This scholarship is awarded to an emergency nurse pursuing a doctoral degree. The applicant’s dissertation must be related to emergency nursing.

 

Requirements: Applicants must show proof of acceptance and enrollment into an accredited doctoral program in nursing and must include a statement about their emergency nursing career intent. Applicants who are more than six months beyond the completion of all formal coursework and comprehensive examinations are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must meet all standard eligibility requirements.
