Vanessa Gorman, MSN, CCRN, FAEN, FCENA, is in her first year as a member of the Emergency Nurses Association Board of Directors. Prior to the board, she has volunteered on ENA’s International Advisory Council since 2015.
Gorman was born and resides in Melbourne, Australia, and is a very active member in CENA, the Australian equivalent of ENA. In more than 25 years working in emergency nursing across many facilities, including tertiary centers and metropolitan hospital settings, she has held a variety of positions such as staff nurse, floor coordinator, nurse educator, nurse manager and most recently, as the senior operations manager for the state-led COVID-19 response for Victoria, Australia.
Gorman joined ENA in the mid-2000s and, after a short lapse in membership, rejoined in 2015 when she was looking to work with like-minded people around the world. Since 2016, she has been actively involved with the International Advisory Council, serving as the chair in 2019 and 2020. Her contributions to ENA’s annual conference include trauma education delivery. She is a strong advocate for international collaboration.
Gorman completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing program in Melbourne, Australia, and went on to earn a graduate diploma in emergency nursing, graduate diploma in health services management and a master’s degree in specialty nursing. She currently holds TNCC, ITLS, TNP accreditation, and is an accredited international trauma coder.
