Journal of Emergency Nursing Offers Varying Views of Nurse Experiences
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (Sept. 9, 2025) – The Journal of Emergency Nursing’s September issue features a focus on the experience and well-being of emergency nurses, from optimizing workflow to moral injury during the COVID-19 pandemic to workplace violence.
“These articles, including a first-person account of being on the receiving end of care, add nuanced perspective to the many factors that affect the emergency nurse’s work experience,” said Journal of Emergency Nursing Editor-in-Chief Anna Valdez, PhD, RN, PHN, CEN, CFRN, CNE, FAEN, FAADN.

Other articles in the September issue include a paper on the use of virtual reality glasses to reduce anxiety for patients under local anesthesia and the Early Career Emergency Nurse Corner section’s paper on care for sudden births in unconventional settings.
