Fourth Class of ENDVR Fellows Announced by ENA
The ENA Foundation has announced the two fellows selected for the 2025 Emergency Nursing Diverse Voices Research Fellowship. Both fellows are first-generation college students who recognize that representation in nursing is extremely important.
The 2025 ENDVR Fellows are:
- Christopher John Fernandez, MN, BSN, RN, CEN, of Rochester, New York, is a Filipino-Canadian nurse with 20 years of global experience. Now based in Toronto, he serves as a clinical supervisor and ED nurse. Through the ENDVR Fellowship, he aims to address workplace stress and mental health barriers in emergency nursing, drawing on his personal and professional journey to inspire change.
- Jasleen Faith Moran of Chicopee, Massachusetts, is a nursing student at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, graduating in January. 2026. Jasleen is bilingual in English and Spanish and is the first in her Puerto Rican family to enter the health care field. She is eager to advance her skills in emergency nursing and contribute to high-acuity patient care through the ENDVR Fellowship.
In 2022, the ENA Foundation, Emergency Nursing Research Advisory Council and ENA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity Committee partnered together to launch the ENDVR Fellowship program aimed at increasing diversity in nursing research, while also providing support and mentoring to emerging researchers who are members of underrepresented groups.
“It’s exciting to see both new and experienced nurses represented in this year's ENDVR Fellows. Both Christopher and Jasleen showed an eagerness and dedication to improving patient care in underrepresented communities in nursing. I can’t wait to see where their research leads them,” said ENA President Ryan Oglesby, PhD, MHA, RN, CEN, CFRN, NEA-BC.
As Fellows, Fernandez and Moran will attend Emergency Nursing 2025 in New Orleans to participate in research activities. They will also partner with a mentor from the Emergency Nursing Research Advisory Council; develop a research project to be conducted locally; attend advisory council meetings; and present their results and findings at Emergency Nursing 2026.
The Emergency Nurses Association is the premier professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing through advocacy, education, research, innovation, and leadership.
