ENA issues Action Alert to oppose cuts to Medicaid
Medicaid is crucial to the survival of American emergency departments and cuts to this program would be a disaster for public health. In 2024, more than 80 million Americans were enrolled in Medicaid and it is the primary payor for emergency department services, especially for children. The current budget proposal would lead to hundreds of billions of dollars cut from Medicaid over ten years.
