About
Spencer Jackson, BSN, RN, EMT-B, CEN, CPEN, CCRN, TCRN is the 2026 Emergency Nurses Association emerging professional liaison to the ENA Board of Directors, serving in a non-voting role.
Jackson is a dedicated emergency nurse with a strong commitment to education, leadership and professional growth. Throughout his four years in nursing, he has earned numerous specialty certifications, served as a mentor to peers, taught multiple emergency and trauma-related courses and led the development of a trauma nursing committee focused on performance improvement as his facility advances toward Level II trauma designation.
Jackson began his health care career in his hometown of Throckmorton, Texas, inspired by his parents, both NREMTs. He worked in multiple roles at the local rural hospital, including housekeeper, laboratory assistant, phlebotomist, EMT and later as a per diem nurse, all of which developed his foundation steeped in versatility and community-driven care.
He earned his associate degree in nursing from Vernon College in 2022 before joining Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, where he currently practices as an emergency department staff nurse and part-time charge nurse. Jackson earned his BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2024 and is currently pursuing his master’s in nursing education. He is also an instructor for BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC.
Jackson became involved with ENA after attending Emergency Nursing 2024, where the passion and collective impact of emergency nurses ignited his desire to be more engaged at local, state, and association-wide levels. He now participates in Texas ENA Council committees for trauma, pediatric and bylaws/policies/procedures. He is the 2026 Staked Plains ENA Chapter president-elect.
As he steps into this position, Jackson looks forward to representing and supporting new emergency nurses worldwide. He is honored to serve in a role where he can uplift peers, strengthen engagement and help shape the future of emergency nursing.
