About

Chris Parker, MSN, RN, CNL, CEN, CFRN, CPEN, TCRN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, NRP, is the 2026 president-elect of Emergency Nurses Association. He is in his fourth year as a member of the Emergency Nurses Association Board of Directors.

Inspired by nurses who took care of his dad when he was ill, Parker has worked his entire health care career in emergency services, starting as a prehospital provider in 1999. 

He took his first ED position at Centra Health in 2002 as an ED technician and has been with the same organization ever since holding several different roles including staff nurse, ED rapid response nurse, flight nurse and nursing professional development specialist. He currently works as the clinical professional development manager for Centra Health in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Parker has served ENA in various roles at the local, state and association-wide level, including multiple terms on the Virginia ENA Council as president and treasurer. He also spent six years as the Virginia ENA representative on the Governor’s EMS Advisory Board. Parker continues as a TNCC and ENCP instructor and faculty.

Parker earned his associate degree in nursing from Jefferson College of Health Science, which is now known as Radford University-Carillion, in 2009. He received his BSN from Liberty University in 2014 and his MSN as a clinical nurse leader from the University of Lynchburg in 2019.

Parker is passionate about mentoring front-line nurses to help them develop their clinical practice and leadership skills while ensuring they have the tools they need to practice safely.
