Application Enhancements:
The ENA Nominations and Elections Committee is dedicated to the ongoing assessment of ENA’s election to ensure the association has the best processes in place to identify and develop future leaders to help lead ENA into the future. In alignment with this commitment and best practices, the committee has made the following enhancements to the application and selection processes for the 2023 election cycle:
- The application will require candidates to submit two letters of recommendation: one from an ENA member and one from a professional reference.
- Board officers must submit one letter from the presidential line of the ENA Board of Directors - current president, president-elect or immediate past president - and a second from a professional reference.
- Directors seeking re-election must submit one letter from the presidential line of the ENA Board of Directors and a second from a professional reference.
- Nominations and Elections Committee members seeking re-election must submit one letter from a professional reference and second from the 2022 Past Board Member or 2022 Board liaison.
- The committee has implemented a scoring rubric for evaluating candidates for placement on the ballot. Candidate vetting will be done based on application materials, competencies and a formal interview process. Based on the results of this vetting, not all applicants will move forward to the ballot.
- The committee will formally vet and rank the candidates based on the scoring rubric and present a final slate of candidates to the ENA Board of Directors and membership. This slate will be presented based on the ranking instead of randomized selection.
