The Geriatric Emergency Nursing Education (GENE)

 
GENE is a comprehensive course consists of 17 interactive modules developed to help improve outcomes for older adults. Elderly patients can often present a unique set of challenges for emergency nurses. This course will offer nurses the tools to assess special needs of the older adult, how to recognize atypical presentations, and how to help improve patient outcomes. Completion of this program will provide 15.21 contact hours of CNE. The learner will need to view all 17 modules and submit the course evaluation.
 
Learner Outcome:Upon completion of this educational activity, the nurse will have a greater understanding of the special needs and challenges in caring for older adults and will be able to incorporate evidence-based practices into the care of older adults.
