ESI is a valid and reliable five-level Emergency Department triage system. This online course helps you and your Emergency Department colleagues to further understand the ESI program, better identify pediatric patients who should be seen first while prioritizing the care of pediatric patients with less emergent conditions.
While some pediatric content is covered in the Adult/Pediatric ESI web-based training course, this course provides health care professionals who are new to ESI or new to pediatric emergency nursing with a strong foundation and comprehensive review of the core principles of the ESI triage system as it relates to the pediatric patient. This course highlights the differences between pediatric and adult triage, as well as some of the nuances of the ESI system that novices can find challenging.
ENA committed itself to the evolution of triage when it acquired the Emergency Severity Index system in 2019. ENA is proud to present the redesigned ESI triage training course that creates a more engaging learning experience for emergency nurses looking to hone their ability to assess patient acuity based on their presentation in the emergency department.
