Call to Action: Advancing Disaster Nursing Education in the U.S
Upon completion of the course the nurse will have a greater understanding of the history, vison, and action strategies of the Nursing Call to Action and disaster Nursing Education. The presenters also provide selected websites to enhance the learner’s knowledge of nursing’s role in disaster preparedness and response. and help make it possible for the emergency nurse to actively contribute to that body of knowledge and evidence. The presenters are Tener Goodwin Veenema, PhD, MPH, MS, RN, FAAN; Joanne Langan, PhD, MSN, BSN, BS/Edu, RN, CNE; Roberta Lavin, PHD, FNP-BC, FANN; and Lavonne Adams, PHD, RN, CCRN.
Learner Outcome:Upon completion of this course, ED nurses will be aware of the resources available to prepare for and respond to disasters.
The planners and presenters of this course have no conflicts of interest and there was no commercial support of this activity. The course will provide 0.85 contact hours of CNE, upon complete review of course module, successful completion of quiz, and submitting an evaluation. Course expires 5/21/2021.
