ENA's Naloxone Education Toolkit (NET) is a comprehensive resource designed to educate patients and family members about opioid overdose, advise on the distribution and proper use of naloxone kits, and to provide key step-by-step instructions to implement a custom opioid overdose prevention program in the ED.
Nancy MacRae, MS, has been named Executive Director of the largest global professional association of emergency nurses. MacRae will provide strategic leadership to ENA, its staff, and the ENA Foundation through a collaborative partnership with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization achieves its mission, vision and objectives.
The Emergency Nurses Association announced 14 emergency nurses will be inducted into the Academy of Emergency Nursing in 2016. The candidates for induction are admitted to AEN as Fellows, recognizing they have made significant contributions to emergency nursing that go above and beyond being an outstanding nurse and a devoted ENA member. Fellows are entitled to use the FAEN designation following their name.

ENA announced Kathleen E. Carlson, MSN, RN, CEN, FAEN, will lead the largest professional association of more than 40,000 emergency nurses, as elected president for 2016 Carlson will work with the ENA Board of Directors to set the strategic direction of the Association. She has general oversight of the Board of Directors, and serves as the official representative and spokesperson of ENA.
