What is the EN411 Legislative Network?
ENA has established the EN411 network to encourage members to cultivate relationships with federal and state legislators, convey ENA’s legislative and regulatory priorities-in an effective manner, and affect the final outcome of federal and state legislation important to emergency nurses.
What does it mean to join the EN411 Legislative Network?
ENA members participating in the EN411 network act as resources and health care issue experts for federal and state legislators to strengthen the voice of emergency nurses in the legislative process.
We know that our members are busy, so we try to make it as easy as possible to participate in the network and influence the legislative process. There are several ways that we communicate with EN411 members to ask you for participation in various activities:
Action Alerts - Help Advocate on Behalf of ENA
ENA will send you action alerts requesting you contact your state or federal legislator about a specific issue, bill, or vote. We will provide you with a sample letter and/or talking points that can be sent directly to your legislator by email or phone call. We always recommend you to customize and personalize all written and oral communications with your legislators.
ENA will send you emails to inform you of any legislative, political, or regulatory issues and activities affecting emergency nurses.
We encourage all EN411 members to invite your legislators and their staff to tour your emergency department. This provides the legislators and staff the opportunity to witness, first-hand the operations of an emergency department and the nurse’s role in the emergency department. We are happy to provide assistance in making these requests.
