Mica David, BSN, RN, CEN, is the 2020 Emerging Professional Liaison to the Emergency Nurses Association Board of Directors, serving in a non-voting role.
Mica earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia before returning to Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Having started her clinical career in the emergency department as a patient care technician, she nurtured a passion for the ED that led her to tailor her nursing school journey with the goal of becoming an ED nurse. Mica is currently an Emergency Department Nurse I at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, a Level II trauma center and soon-to-be the second largest emergency department in the nation.
Mica learned early in her journey the relevance and importance of professional organizations to the nursing community. She served as the First Vice President of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students and earned Board Member of the Year during her term. The following year she served as the Retired Board Member for the same organization. She also served as an Ambassador, Membership Director of Involvement and Webmaster for her local school association. Mica has attended state and national conferences, including the National Student Nurses Association where she also served as a delegate for the state of Georgia.
The Emerging Professional Liaison role will be Mica’s first professional leadership position as a registered nurse. With experience in mentorship, leadership and service, Mica hopes to translate these qualities into the role, and continue to advocate for, and retain membership of, other emerging professionals.
Term as Emerging Professional Liaison: January 2020-December 2020
