Dustin Bass, MHA, BSN, RN, CEN, NEA-BC, is in his third year as a member of the Emergency Nurses Association Board of Directors. 

Bass currently serves as the assistant vice president of emergency services at Atrium Health Cabarrus. He is a diverse and multi-faceted nurse leader who is passionate about improving the lives of nurses at the stretcherside. He received his bachelor’s degree in biological science from Mountain State University and earned his nursing diploma from Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, North Carolina. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UNC-Charlotte and his master’s degree in health care administration from Ohio University, and is currently enrolled in the DNP program at Yale University to study health care policy, innovation and system leadership. Bass is a Board Certified Emergency Nurse and a Board Certified Nurse Executive.

He has spent time as a stretcherside nurse in the ED, trauma ICU, pediatric trauma unit and float pool throughout his career. In leadership roles, he has served as a charge nurse, clinical supervisor and nurse manager in emergency departments across the country before his current position. In 2020, under his direction and leadership, the Carson Tahoe Emergency Department team was awarded the internationally recognized ENA Lantern Award. Additionally, Bass was recognized as the Northern Nevada Nurse of Achievement Administrative Nurse Leader of the year for 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, Bass was elected to the ENA Board of Directors. He served as the Nevada ENA State Council president, co-chair of the 2020 Conference Education Planning Committee and has been an active member of ENA since beginning his career in 2010. Additionally, he has been a guest on the nationally recognized "Art of Emergency Nursing" podcast and has shared his unique perspectives through his presentation "Amplify your Awesomeness: as a Nurse, Leader, and Unparalleled Individual" at regional and annual ENA conferences. In his free time, he likes to travel and spend time with his family and friends across the United States.
