AEN Honorary and Posthumous Fellowship

The Academy shall be composed of Fellows, Honorary Fellows, and Posthumous Fellows. Fellows, including honorary and posthumous, are those individuals who meet the criteria for eligibility and are admitted to the Academy after ratification by the ENA Board of Directors.

Honorary Fellows

Honorary Fellows are persons outside of the emergency nursing profession, including non-nurses, who meet the enduring and substantial criteria for Academy membership. Applications for Honorary Fellows do not require current membership in good standing; however other criteria of enduring and substantial contributions must have been met.

Honorary Fellows have the right to:

1. Use FAEN (H) following their name
2. Be a non-voting participant at Academy meetings
3. Be named in the Directory of Fellows

Application fees and annual dues fees are waived for Honorary Fellows.

Posthumous Fellows

Posthumous Fellows are deceased individuals who previously met the criteria for active involvement and enduring and substantial contributions for Academy membership. Nominations for Posthumous Fellowship must be submitted by at least one Fellow of the Academy.

Posthumous Fellows have the right to:
1. Have FAEN following their name
2. Be named in the Directory of Fellows

Application and annual dues fees are waived for Posthumous Fellows.

Posthumous Fellow applications may be submitted at any time throughout the year. Applications will be reviewed on an annual basis by the AEN Board. Applications submitted before March 11, will be considered for the 2024 Class of Fellows. Applications submitted after that date will be considered for next year's class.
