AEN Posthumous Nomination Application

The Academy shall be composed of Fellows, Honorary Fellows,and Posthumous Fellows.

Fellows, including Honorary and Posthumous, are those individuals who meet the criteria for eligibility and are admitted to the Academy after ratification by the ENA Board of Directors. Posthumous Fellows are deceased individuals who previously met the criteria for active involvement and enduring and substantial contributions (criteria #1 & #2) for Academy membership. No application fee is required. Upon acceptance there are no annual dues fees for Posthumous Fellows.

The Posthumous Fellows application below remains open year-round to allow a rolling submission period. Applications will be reviewed for acceptance on an annual basis following the current Fellowship Application timeline. For example, all posthumous applications received by January 25, 2018, will be considered for the 2018 Class of Fellows. Applications received after that deadline date will be considered for the next year's Class of Fellows.

Active Involvement in the Emergency Nurses Association

In 400 words or less describe how the deceased demonstrated active involvement in ENA, beyond holding membership, for a minimum of three consecutive years. 0 words (400 max)

Enduring and Substantial Contributions to the Advancement of the Emergency Nursing Profession

In 750 words or less describe how the deceased demonstrated enduring and substantial contributions and the significant impact (outcomes) those contributions had on the advancement of the emergency nursing profession in education, practice, research, leadership, and/or public policy. The contributions and impact are above and beyond those, which were required or expected in the deceased applicant’s position of employment.

Sustained Contributions to the Academy of Emergency Nursing and the Advancement of the Emergency Nursing Profession

In 300 words or less describe how the deceased demonstrated sustained contributions that will continue to impact the advancement of the emergency nursing profession in education, practice, research, leadership, and/or public policy. The sustained contributions and impact are above and beyond those required or expected in the deceased applicant’s position of employment.
