Call for Proposed Bylaw Amendments & Resolutions
Submission Deadline ~ April 11, 2008
The ENA General Assembly meets yearly before the start of the ENA Annual Conference to determine official association policy and positions by reviewing, debating and voting on proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions.
Bylaw amendments and resolutions may be proposed by the board of directors, association chapters (must be signed by the chapter and state president attesting to their acknowledgment and coordination), state councils (signed by the state president) or over the signatures of five active members of the association.
Proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions must be submitted to Kari Zick, Resolutions Committee staff liaison, by April 11, 2008, via e-mail to kzick@ena.org.
This is your opportunity to bring important professional emergency nursing issues to the 2008 General Assembly.
The Resolutions Committee is available to help ENA members with developing proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions. This assistance provides members with the resources to effectively write proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions in the proper format before the deadline.
If you are interested in bringing a proposed bylaw amendment or resolution to the 2008 General Assembly, please visit the ENA Web site at www.ena.org to obtain the Primer on Writing and Presenting Resolutions and Bylaw Changes. For assistance from Resolutions Committee members, please contact Kari Zick, Resolutions Committee staff liaison, at kzick@ena.org, or call (800) 900-9659, ext. 4092.
Formal consideration of proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions will occur at the 2008 General Assembly, September 24-25, 2008, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The delegates will debate and vote on each proposed bylaw amendment and resolution presented.
