Join the Faculty for Leadership Challenge 2006
The city limits of Austin, Texas will be host to Leadership Challenge 2006, February 23-26, 2006. The selection process is about to begin, and individuals interested in joining the faculty are encouraged to submit course proposals before the deadline – March 18, 2005.
Share your knowledge and experience in the areas of management, operations, government affairs, technology, team building, research, education, advance practice, and personal and professional
development. Leadership Challenge attracts international attendance, including advanced practice nurses, trauma coordinators, managers, administrators, medical directors, clinical specialists, prehospital coordinators, and educators.
The standard concurrent course length is 75 minutes. Faculty are encouraged to present two separate topics, or be prepared to repeat their lecture(s). Courses requiring multiple faculty are discouraged unless a convincing need can be demonstrated. Proposals for workshops involving interactive and in-depth content presentations are also requested. These sessions should be 3-8 hours in length. Course content should be designated as intended for new nurse
leaders and managers or for those with greater experience.
Course proposals must be submitted in the format outlined or if you prefer, an interactive electronic form can be obtained by contacting ENA Educational Services at LeadershipChallenge@ena.org. If you prefer to prepare your course proposal independently, mail your proposal to:

Format and Criteria for Course Proposals
(Each proposal must be prepared separately and include all of the following information.)
Faculty, Presentation and Sponsor Information
(Do not send résumé or curriculum vitae. This section must be submitted for each course.)
- Faculty Information (provide this information for each faculty member)
- Name and credentials
- Mailing address
- E-mail address
- Telephone numbers (business, home and fax)
- Course Information
- Title
- Description (three to five sentences)
- State whether content is best suited for new or seasoned nurse managers/leaders
- Objectives (three learning objectives)
- Content Outline (maximum one page)
- Participant Limit (Please state reason for limits below 150, e.g., a lower student/instructor ratio for courses involving psychomotor skills, finite amount of course materials, etc.)
- Teaching Method
- Audio Visual Equipment Requirements
- Special Equipment Requirements
(Please include manufacturer, style, and product numbers where specific brands and types of equipment are required.)
- Corporate Sponsor Information (if applicable)
- Provide name of corporate sponsor
- Provide contact name and telephone number
- Presentation History Information
- List all previous proposals submitted for Leadership Challenge (by year).
- List three most notable presentations including:
- Title
- Name of conference
- Year of presentation
- Audience size
Proposals must be postmarked or electronically submitted by March 18, 2005.
Presentation proposals that are not complete or do not follow the submission guidelines will not be considered. Formal notification of selection will occur approximately 60 days after submission deadline date.
