A strong new message, We’re here…Get ready!, will greet you. The newly updated site is going live this month, following the September 2006 launch of the GENE course online version that makes it more assessable to more emergency nurses. The visuals are more informative, and the content is easier to navigate. Icons for clicking to more detailed information about course content reflect the many new faces of this older adult patient group. |

| Help Prevent Falls With Stand Strong for Life Program
|
| The Stand Strong for Life program, developed by the ENA Injury Prevention Institute/EN CARE, provides health care professionals with information on preventing falls among older adults in their communities. This evidence-based program includes health care professional and community-based modules, two PowerPoint® presentations and four brochures. The health care professional module can be used as a self-study or group guide. The community-based module targets community-dwelling older adults who are at medium or high risk for falls. Modules, PowerPoint presentations, and brochures are included on a single CD-ROM. To order, contact the ENA Member Services Department at 800/243-8362. |

| ENAF State Council Challenge Opens January 1, 2007

| Take up the challenge to raise a minimum of $1 per member in your state and win the opportunity to name an ENA scholarship or create an ENAF Advanced Practice scholarship. Two winning categories will be announced: largest total contribution and largest per capita contribution. Each winning state will receive one free registration to ENA’s 2007 Annual Conference (September 26-29, 2007, Salt Lake City). The State Council Challenge begins January 1, 2007, and ends June 30, 2007. All proceeds will benefit the ENAF Scholarship Program. |

| Read DMR for Social and Mental Health Needs Assessment of Katrina Evacuees

Log on to www.ena.org/publications to view the current issue of ENA’s Disaster Management & Response, which includes a case report of 124 Hurricane Katrina evacuees in Houston shelters from September 4-12, 2005. DMR is an online publication for ENA members. Each issue provides health care providers across specialties with timely, accurate information that can be taken to the front lines when dealing with mass casualties. |

| SBIRT Educational Toolkit
|
| ENA is developing a Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT) educational toolkit in collaboration with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The toolkit will include a tri-fold nursing folio explaining the goals and concepts of SBIRT, a cut-out pocket guide for quick reference to screening questions and patient assessment and an interactive training video on DVD. The toolkit is a self-learning or group interactive training guide and will be distributed free of charge to 5,000 emergency departments in the U.S. starting in early 2008.
