Academy of Emergency Nursing (AEN) Induction Ceremony and Dinner
All ENA Annual Conference attendees are invited to attend the AEN Induction Ceremony to be held Saturday, September 16, 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., at the Marriott River Center, Salon J. The dinner preceding the induction, both black-tie optional, will be held from 7:45 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. in Salon I. Dinner tickets are $54 and will be available until September 1. Advanced Injury Prevention Applied Concepts—Space Available for Annual Conference Presessions
This Injury Prevention pre-session to be held in San Antonio, September 14, 2006, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., will help health care professionals obtain additional knowledge in the development and implementation of injury prevention programs. Attendees will learn to teach the basic concepts of injury prevention and mentoring new injury prevention advocates. The $90 course will utilize national core competencies to provide the essential skills and knowledge necessary for preparing emergency nurses to be successful in the injury prevention field. Materials (injury prevention workbook and CD-ROM) will be provided. Talk to Your Board at the ENA Membership Town Hall Meeting
Join 2006 ENA President Nancy Bonalumi, RN, MS, CEN, the ENA Board of Directors, and your fellow ENA members at the ENA Annual Conference for this interactive one-hour meeting. The Town Hall Meeting will be held in Ballroom A at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas, Wednesday, September 13, 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. Get involved and let your voice be heard by addressing your ideas, concerns, or comments directly to the ENA Board of Directors.

If you cannot attend the meeting, you may submit questions in advance. E-mail your questions to Yuen Atkins at yatkins@ena.org by August 31. The Town Hall Meeting will be available via audiocast on the ENA Web site (www.ena.org) after the meeting.

CEN, CFRN And CTRN Exams Scheduled for San Antonio
The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN®) will administer a computer-based exam and a paper-and-pencil version of the CEN®, CFRN®, or the CTRN™ exam Thursday, September 14, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas, during the ENA Annual Conference. Submit your application for either paper-and-pencil exam or the computer-based exam. When you apply for the San Antonio conference exam you MUST include a note with your application requesting to take the exam in San Antonio. Also, PLEASE indicate which testing method you prefer, mobile computer-based or paper and pencil.

Request an application online at www.ena.org/bcen, or call the BCEN office at 800/900-9659, Ext. 2630. Candidates who use the mobile computer-based option will receive their score reports upon completion of the exam.

Choices for Living Program
The dynamic CD program Choices for Living is available at the ENA Marketplace. This program is designed to empower teenagers with skills for making informed decisions and engaging in healthy behaviors related to safe driving. Some of the topics addressed include underage drinking, binge drinking, drinking and driving and safety belt use. Coming Soon—Stand Strong for Life: A Falls Prevention Program
This program targets community-dwelling older adults who are at high risk for falls in and around their homes. The goal of this evidence-based program is to decrease the number of risk factors for falls in older adults’ surroundings and promote safe behavior/environment to ultimately reduce the number of falls and the severity of falls-related injuries. The program consists of two modules: 1) an educational module and PowerPoint® presentation for health care professionals and 2) an educational PowerPoint presentation and four brochures for community-dwelling older adults. Modules, presentations and brochures are included on a CD-ROM.
