NATIONAL ENA
National Trauma Month Focuses on Helmet Use, Concussion Prevention
This year, the EMSC National Resource Center (NRC) is partnering with the American Trauma Society (ATS) to develop, distribute and promote National Trauma Month. Occurring each May, the commemorative celebration is designed to raise awareness about trauma and trauma prevention. This year's theme, "Plan A-Head," draws attention to helmet use as a means to prevent concussions.
More than 200 trauma centers throughout the country will receive an information packet, complete with a poster, a brochure for families, a fact sheet for practitioners and a list of resources on mild traumatic brain injury.
If you would like more information on National Trauma Month, please contact the American Trauma Society at (800) 556-7890.
