
Mission:
To reduce injury- and violence-related morbidity and mortality by developing, promoting, evaluating and disseminating injury and violence prevention programs for emergency health care professionals and the community
Goals:
- Develop, evaluate, and disseminate high quality education programs enabling emergency health care professionals to gain competency in injury and/or violence prevention
- Develop, evaluate, and disseminate evidence-based prevention interventions to educate health care professionals and the general public on ways to reduce injury and violence
- Improve public health and safety through advocacy and reinforcement of injury and violence prevention policies
- Integrate injury and violence prevention into emergency health care by providing risk assessment and program management tools for use in emergency health care settings and the community
- Increase collaborative efforts at the local, state, and national level to promote adoption and implementation of injury and violence prevention programs and policies
