About IQSIP

The Institute for Quality, Safety and Injury Prevention (IQSIP) was formed in 2010 to merge three key areas of emergency nursing quality care (nursing practice), patient/staff safety, and injury prevention.  The Practice Department, the Institute for Quality and Safety, and the ENA Injury Prevention Institute/EN CARE all merged to become the IQSIP.

The purpose of the IQSIP is to provide resources that empower emergency nurses to integrate quality, safety and injury prevention into everyday practice and to be leaders within their institutions and communities.  The word “integration” is key.  The IQSIP integration is central to ENA’s Safe Practice, Safe Care nexus.  IQSIP initiatives incorporate concepts from quality, safety, and injury prevention.  The diagram below depicts the IQSIP integrative model and provides examples of strategic initiatives.

Vision
The Institute is indispensable to the global emergency nursing community.

Mission
The ENA IQSIP advances quality and safety for emergency nursing and emergency care to improve outcomes through best practice tools, advocacy, and education.
