Except as provided in s. 257.03, no person may use or assume the title “doctor of medicine” or append to the person’s name the letters “M.D.” unless one of the following applies:
1. The person possesses the degree of doctor of medicine.
2. The person is licensed as a physician under this subchapter because the person satisfied the degree requirement of s. 448.05 (2) by possessing a medical degree that was conferred by a medical school recognized and listed as such by the World Health Organization of the United Nations.

(7) BATTERY TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE PROVIDERS.

(b) Whoever intentionally causes bodily harm to an emergency department worker, an emergency medical technician, a first responder or an ambulance driver who is acting in an official capacity and who the person knows or has reason to know is an emergency department worker, an emergency medical technician, a first responder or an ambulance driver, by an act done without the consent of the person so injured, is guilty of a Class H felony.

If anesthetics are not administered by a qualified anesthesiologist, they shall be administered by a physician anesthetist, podiatrist or a registered nurse anesthetist, under supervision as defined by medical staff policy. The hospital, on recommendation of the medical staff, shall designate persons qualified to administer anesthetics and shall determine what each person is qualified to do.
