The ENA Foundation is a national, charitable, not-for-profit organization committed to excellence in emergency care. Established in 1991 by the Emergency Nurses Association, the mission of the ENA Foundation is to provide educational scholarships and research grants in the discipline of emergency nursing. Funding to complete this mission is a direct result of contributions made by emergency nurses, ENA State Councils and chapters, industry support and friends of emergency nursing.
The ENA Foundation awards annual continuing education and educational scholarships in the following categories. 2010 Educational Scholarship Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in the ENA Foundation scholarship program. The majority of scholarships offered by the ENA Foundation are intended for licensed nurses (RN, LPN, LVN) who are current members of the Emergency Nurses Association ENA). There are a minimum number of scholarships offered for non-RN applicants. Before proceeding, please make sure you read and understand the eligibility requirements for all ENA Foundation scholarships.
Eligibility requirements for ALL scholarships:
- A minimum of a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) is required for consideration.
- Applicants must be attending a NLN or AACN accredited school and must provide verification of the schools current accreditation.
- Applicants must be an ENA member for a minimum of twelve (12) months immediately prior to applying. Non-RN category applicants are not required to be an ENA member but a letter of reference from a current ENA member is required.
- Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to reapply under the same category. However, qualified previous recipients may apply for the next category.
- ENA members having served in the immediate past three years on the ENA Board of Directors, ENA Foundation Board of Trustees, or ENA Foundation Scholarship Review Team are ineligible to apply.
Multiple scholarships are available from the ENA Foundation in four categories; non-RN, undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate. For a listing of all the 2010 scholarships available, please click and review the 2010 Educational Scholarship Opportunity Listing.
Before completing a 2010 scholarship application, please review the eligibility requirements listed above. It is also highly recommended that you review the “Application Helpful Hints” multiple times before submitting your application.

2010 Continuing Educational Scholarships
Continuing education scholarships meet member needs for short-term, focused education. Frequently the nurse applicants do not receive funds from their hospitals to support their participation in ENA educational programs. Thanks to generous donations to the ENA Foundation, we have the opportunity to award the following continuing education awards.
Leadership Tapestry Scholarship ... to attend Leadership Conference 2010
Created in 2008 by Cindy Lefton in honor of Denise King, the ENA Foundation is offering six scholarships to attend the ENA Leadership Conference 2010 in Chicago, IL February 17-21st, 2010. These scholarships are intended to cover conference registration fees, travel and hotel accommodations and minimal expenses.

CEN Renewal Assistance Scholarship
Applications for the 2010 CEN Renewal Assistance Scholarship are available below. The ENA Foundation’s mission is to provide educational scholarships and research grants in the discipline of emergency nursing. Thanks to the generous donations from ENA members, individuals, organizations and industry, the ENA Foundation is excited to offer thirteen CEN Renewal Assistance Scholarships.
The CEN Renewal Assistance scholarship is for current CEN candidates expiring between October 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be current ENA members. If granted this scholarship, candidates must submit the award letter by December 31, 2010, with their CEN renewal application.
