ENA Foundation Scholarships
Welcome to the Emergency Nurses Association Foundation (ENAF) scholarship program. The ENAF was established in 1991 by the Emergency Nurses Association. The mission of the foundation is to enhance emergency healthcare services to the public through the promotion and support of research and education in emergency care.
The ENA foundation awards continuing education and educational scholarships in the following categories. ENA Foundation Educational Scholarship Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in the Foundation’s educational scholarships. Due to the generous donations from individuals and industry, the ENA Foundation is excited to offer thirty-five (35) educational scholarships in 2008. Scholarships are available in the following four educational categories.
- Rescue Workers and EMT Scholarships
- Undergraduate Scholarships
- Advanced Practice Scholarships
- Doctoral and Faculty Doctoral Scholarships
If you have submitted an application for the 2008 Educational Scholarships, notification of awards will be made by August 7, 2008.

2009 Scholarships
I am sorry, the Foundation has already completed the award cycle for this year. New awards and applications for 2009 will be posted on the ENA website after the first of the New Year.
The types of scholarships offered by the ENAF are intended for currently licensed nurses (RN, LPN, or LVN) for their undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees; OR rescue workers who wish to obtain their undergraduate nursing degree. Also, with the exception of the rescue worker scholarship, applicants must be members of the Emergency Nurses Association for at least 12 months prior to applying.

Continuing Education Scholarships
Continuing education scholarships meet member needs for short-term, focused education. Frequently the nurse applicants do not receive funds from their hospitals to support their participation in ENA educational programs. Thanks to generous donations from individuals and industry support – the ENA Foundation has to opportunity to award the following scholarships.
The Key Concepts program had been developed to provide ED Managers with the best practice fundamentals and cutting-edge information essential to successfully run an emergency department in the current healthcare environment. Built on three pillars of ED management, participants will focus on leadership concepts in the area of personnel, finance and operations. Seasoned ED managers and voices alike will be able to apply the tools and information given immediately upon return to their hospital emergency departments or urgent care centers. Taught by emergency nurse experts in the field, you will learn the insider secrets to running a top-flight emergency department.

2008 GE Healthcare Key Concepts Seminar Scholarships
Thank you for your interest in the 2008 Key Concept courses. In 2008, with the generous support of GE Healthcare, ENA Strategic Sponsor - the Foundation will be awarding eight (8) scholarships in the amount of $1250 and two (2) in the amount of $1,000. GENE – Geriatric Emergency Nursing Education
A recent anonymous donor with an interest in the care of geriatric patients provided funds for the Geriatric Emergency Nursing Education Course (GENE). With those funds, the requested the ENA Foundation to award twenty (20) partial scholarships to registrants for the online course in both 2006 and 2007.
It is the expectation of the Foundation to award another 20 partial scholarship to registrants for 2008. Applicants do not need to apply for this scholarship. Upon completion of the GENE online course, you are automatically included.
