Stretcherside Miracles Pin

A message from AnnMarie Papa, ENA Past President
Emergency nursing is special and unique. We often see people on what might be described as the worst day of their lives. I chose the stretcherside pin to help us remember that the true miracles of our profession occur during those moments on the front line. Moments when we see the relieved face of a parent while caring for their sick or injured child; the gratitude of the patient with a heart attack as we accompany them to the cath lab; the resolve of the loved ones left behind as we comfort them during their time of loss; and the joy and satisfaction in each of our hearts knowing that we have made a difference.
Somewhere in the world, emergency nurses make a difference every second of every day. Think about it. In the time it took to read this – how many lives were impacted by our colleagues?
I hope this pin is a symbol of the pride in our profession and inspiration for us to continue to remember the stretcherside difference that we make.
