Objectives of Contemporary Practice in Emergency Stroke Management:

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

• Apply recommendations for primary stroke centers from the Brain Attack Coalition
• Recognize that coordinated systems of care ensure quality improvement in stroke management
• Implement an evidence-based approach to optimize outcomes of stroke patients
• Describe the proper evaluation procedure for ED patients suspected of having an acute stroke
• Identify the appropriate diagnostic tests in the acute phase of stroke
• List multiple ways to prevent secondary brain damage

Continuing Education Contact Hours:
Contemporary Practice in Emergency Stroke Management (Course #10913) has been approved for 1.5 Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) in the category of Clinical.

A score of 70% is needed to pass the course. Upon verification of a passing score, a certificate will be awarded and mailed to the applicant. If a score of less than 70% is obtained, applicant will receive a letter with instructions regarding resubmission of exam.
