PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Institute of Medicine (IOM) suggests that better teamwork and coordination could prevent harm to patients and recommends that health care organizations establish team training programs for personnel in critical areas such as emergency departments, intensive care units, and operating rooms. In this one-hour Web seminar, one of the first Master Trainers for the AHRQ/Department of Defense Team STEPPS program will discuss the importance of the leadership role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of teamwork training initiatives.
