IENR Lounge is back ...
and we want you there!

When you pack for Leadership Conference 2013, don’t forget the most important items: Your ideas.

The Institute for Emergency Nursing Research will host its IENR Research Lounge, a growing staple of ENA conferences, from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, in Room 123 of the convention center. Coffee and breakfast items will be offered. Emergency nurses are encouraged to stop in as they please to talk about anything with research implications, from the smallest seed of an idea to studies already in progress that just need some expert direction. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced researcher, there’s someone among the IENR’s group of 8-10 doctorate-level nurses who will sit down with you and map out where you go next in your project.

Dozens of emergency nurses came in for advice and conversation during the IENR Lounge in New Orleans a year ago, said IENR Director Lisa Wolf, PhD, RN, CEN, FAEN.

“The Lounge will have more opportunities for people to identify what their clinical questions really are, to get advice on how to start answering those questions, potentially some sources for small-grant funding through the ENA Foundation – we’re going to be talking to people about how to access that money,” Wolf said.

Individual research projects “run the gamut,” Wolf said, with nurses previously coming to the Lounge to explore topics such as immediate bedding, communication problems and staffing.

Not sure if the IENR Lounge is for you? Visit anyway – and leave your business card to enter raffles for special “Got Evidence?” T-shirts (modeled at left).

“You should totally come and have a cup of coffee and talk to us,” Wolf said.
