LC2013 - Shape the Future
CERPs (Continuing Education Recognition Points)

What are CERPs?
CERP is an acronym for continuing education recognition points. These points are designated for non-traditional education or participation. One CERP is equal to one hour of education.

What are CERPs used for?
ENA issued CERPs are not affiliated with, or accredited by, any other nursing organization. ENA does not guarantee that other organizations, institutions, or state boards of nursing will accept CERPs from ENA. Check with your organizations, institutions, or state boards of nursing to verify acceptance of CERPs prior to submitting for credit.

The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing does accept ENA issued CERPs for certification renewal by CEs for CEN, CFRN, and CTRN renewals as non-accredited CEs.

My organization is a commercial entity. Can I provide CERPs to participants?
Yes, by developing education that is relevant to emergency nursing, but not promotional in nature, and completing the provider request form process, your education can be considered for CERPs.

How are CERPs different than contact hours?
ENA issued CERPs are not affiliated with, or accredited by, any other nursing organization. ENA does not guarantee that other organizations, institutions, or state boards of nursing will accept CERPs from ENA.

CERPs are not issued for traditional education that would fall under ENA’s accreditation.

How can my educational session receive CERPs at an ENA Conference?
There is a minimum booth requirement of 10x20 or utilizing the product theater in the Exhibit Hall and a fee of $150.00. Exhibitors should first contact Linda Moustis at 847-460-4077 to ensure they have met the booth requirement. Then e-mail a form request to CERPs@ena.org
