Needlestick and sharps injuries remain one of the greatest risks that frontline health care workers face in the U.S. and internationally. Improving the safety of the work environment has long been a core issue of the ANA and the organization has launched a number of advocacy and educational campaigns to reduce sharps injuries among U.S. nurses. This presentation makes the case for refocusing our efforts on prevention and provides an overview of ANA’s Safe Needles Save Lives campaign.
