Title: Innovative Ideas for Designing the ED of Y2025
Date/Time: Friday, September 24, 6:15 – 7:45 a.m.
Location: Marriott Rivercenter, Grand Ballroom, Sections H-K
Course Description: As emergency department redesigns continue across the United States in unprecedented numbers, the new decade will require today’s nurses to take leading roles in the design of “tomorrow’s emergency department.” Flexibility, efficiency, lean streamlined patient care, confidentiality and other key issues will need to be considered when designing your new department. New technologies, safety issues and bioterrorism are other concerns that will also need to be considered in tomorrow’s emergency department environment. This course will identify key issues to consider when you participate on an emergency department design team and how the emergency department nurse can be a driving force in designing a state-of-the-art emergency department. In addition, more than 100 examples (completed project images & design ideas) of recently designed emergency departments will be shared with attendees.
