TNCC National Rollout Process Begins
We are very pleased to announce that the TNCC revision is entering the first step of a two-step rollout process. The first step consists of three National rollout sessions for a total of 250 participants. The sessions will be held in the Chicago area, one each in May, June, and July. The purpose of the sessions is to provide feedback to the TNCC Revision Workgroup, pilot the new exams and prepare attendees to update instructors in their states.
In December 2006 the ENA Board of Directors approved grant funding for travel and hotel expenses for 250 current TNCC instructors to attend one of the three rollout sessions. Each state is entitled to send two instructors. Additional seats have been allocated based on the overall number of instructors within the state as of December 31, 2006. There will be 100 seats available for each of the first two sessions and 50 seats at the last session. All sessions will cover the same material.
The dates for the sessions are:
Session One
Session Two
Session Three

The registration deadline is March 2, 2007. It is the responsibility of State Presidents and/or State Trauma Chairpersons to select the instructors who will attend. The State President and/or State Trauma Chairperson must submit a group registration for the instructors selected. Individual registrations by instructors cannot be accepted.
Each National rollout session will be two days. The first day will consist of a review of the content changes to the course. The second day will include a review of changes in the Administrative Procedures and piloting of the new exams. A new TNCC Provider manual will be shipped to attendees prior to the session they are attending. Every attendee is expected to review the manual prior to the National rollout session.
All National rollout session attendees will be grandfathered in as being updated and able to teach the new material. They will be provided with a DVD of the first rollout session to use to update the balance of instructors in their state, which is the second step of the rollout process. Materials and manuals will be available for this purpose beginning October 1, 2007 and all instructors must be updated by April 30, 2008. This means that only the revised course can be taught after April 30, 2008.
If you are an active TNCC instructor and are interested in attending one of these sessions, contact your State President and/or your State Trauma Chairperson to express your interest.
If you should have any questions about the rollout process, please feel free to contact Maureen Howard at mhoward@ena.org .
Note: There has been a change in the hotel venue for the 1st rollout session.
The Double Tree Hotel location is in Arlington Heights, IL, approximately 20 minutes from O’Hare.
The hotels for the 2nd and 3rd sessions are in Rosemont as stated in a prior letter.
