Elsevier/MC Strategies Call for Author/Editor for Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN®) Online Review Course
Elsevier/MC Strategies is seeking a qualified author/editor for its forthcoming Certification in Emergency Nursing Online Review course. Minimum Qualifications
- Registered nurse
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active ENA member
- Active certification in emergency nursing
- Minimum 10 years’ emergency nursing experience
- Three to 5 years’ experience teaching CEN review courses
- Three to 5 years’ experience writing CEN review questions, answers and rationales
- Publishing experience
- Minimum one year’s experience writing for online nursing courses
Responsibilities
- Extensive time commitment (minimum 15 to 20 hours/week) from September 2, 2008, to March 31, 2009, which will includes:
- Participating in a one-day project launch meeting
- Identifying qualified subject-matter experts, as appropriate
- Editing or writing scripts from September 2008 to January 2009
- Editing or rewriting content from subject-matter experts to ensure that content adheres to
- predetermined project specifications
- Identifying qualified peer reviewers
- Evaluating peer-reviewer comments for appropriateness
- Identifying figures, images and photos
- Working closely with instructional designer during storyboard development
- Reviewing storyboards
- Reviewing online lessons (alpha, beta and gold versions) as they are developed
- Answering queries within 24 hours from project manager, instructional designer, copy editor,
- proofreader, permissions editor and clinical editor
- Problem-solving as needed and within a 24-hour turnaround
- Consistently meeting extremely tight deadlines
- Attending one-hour weekly project status conference calls.
