Elsevier/MC Strategies Call for Author/Editor for Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN®) Online Review Course

Elsevier/MC Strategies is seeking a qualified author/editor for its forthcoming Certification in Emergency Nursing Online Review course. Minimum Qualifications

  1. Registered nurse
  2. Bachelor’s degree
  3. Active ENA member
  4. Active certification in emergency nursing
  5. Minimum 10 years’ emergency nursing experience
  6. Three to 5 years’ experience teaching CEN review courses
  7. Three to 5 years’ experience writing CEN review questions, answers and rationales
  8. Publishing experience
  9. Minimum one year’s experience writing for online nursing courses

Responsibilities

  1. Extensive time commitment (minimum 15 to 20 hours/week) from September 2, 2008, to March 31, 2009, which will includes:
  2. Participating in a one-day project launch meeting
  3. Identifying qualified subject-matter experts, as appropriate
  4. Editing or writing scripts from September 2008 to January 2009
  5. Editing or rewriting content from subject-matter experts to ensure that content adheres to
    predetermined project specifications
  6. Identifying qualified peer reviewers
  7. Evaluating peer-reviewer comments for appropriateness
  8. Identifying figures, images and photos
  9. Working closely with instructional designer during storyboard development
  10. Reviewing storyboards
  11. Reviewing online lessons (alpha, beta and gold versions) as they are developed
  12. Answering queries within 24 hours from project manager, instructional designer, copy editor,
    proofreader, permissions editor and clinical editor
  13. Problem-solving as needed and within a 24-hour turnaround
  14. Consistently meeting extremely tight deadlines
  15. Attending one-hour weekly project status conference calls.
