Call for Nominations ENA Foundation Board of Trustees

Application Deadline is June 1, 2008

The mission of the ENA Foundation is to provide educational scholarships and research grants in the discipline of emergency nursing. Through its mission, ENAF will enhance emergency care by achieving the following goals:

• Promoting professional development in emergency nursing through research and education.
• Providing support for the education of health care professionals in the care and treatment of emergency patients.
• Providing research grants and educational scholarships.

Two ENA Member Trustee-at-Large and two Corporate-at-Large positions will be filled for 2009. These positions are for two year terms. The Board of Trustees meets twice a year in conjunction with Leadership and Annual Conference.

Nomination Criteria:

ENA member candidates meeting the following criteria will be considered for the 2009 ENAF Board of Trustees member nominees:

National ENA leadership experience (One opening) (two year term beginning Jan. 2009):
• Experience in leading national, multi-faced fundraising programs
• Capable of cultivation major donors for the Foundation
• Skill and talent to acquire larger cash and in-kind contributions either from within the membership or from external organizations, primarily corporate entities
• A history of giving and commitment to the ENA Foundation

ENA State Council, Local Chapter, or comparable grass roots level experience (One opening)*:

• Ability to communicate the Foundation’s mission to members at the State Council and Local Chapter level
• Achievement of successful cash and in-kind fundraising results
• A history of giving and commitment to the ENA Foundation

* The ENA Board of Directors amended the ENAF Bylaws to add an additional ENA Member Trustee-at-Large position to the committee. This new board position will commence August 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009.

Corporate candidates meeting the following criteria will be considered will be considered for the 2009 ENAF Board of Trustee Corporate nominee:

Corporate Trustee nominees will be sought for their company’s support of the Foundation’s mission and the capacity for making financial and/or in-kind contributions. Categories of industry expertise may be identified such as medical device/equipment, pharmaceutical, publishing, technology, recruitment, or others deemed relevant to the discipline. The criteria are further defined as:

Corporate Trustee experience:

• Skills and talents to acquire larger cash and in-kind ENAF contributions either from within the membership or from external organizations, primarily corporate entities
• A corporate history of giving and commitment to the ENA Foundation
