Mitch Jewett, RN, CEN, is currently serving as a member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Board of Directors, the specialty nursing association serving the emergency nursing profession through research, publications, professional development, and injury prevention. Jewett’s term ends in December 2009.

Jewett is an Emergency Department Manager at Newton Medical Center, in Newton, Kansas. He has worked in both rural and urban emergency departments in Kansas over the past twenty years. He has served at the state and local level as the Kansas ENA State Council President and ENACK President. He has been active at the local, state and national level in government affairs. He has written articles for the ENA Connection.

Jewett is a member of the American Nurses Association and Kansas Organization of Nurse Leaders. He has served as Vice Chair and Chair for the Kansas Hospital Association Emergency Preparedness Committee. In 2006 he served on the Kansas Driving Force Task Force exploring ways to reduce injury and death on his state’s roads and highways.

Jewett earned his Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree from Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. A member of the ENA beginning in 1986, he is a certified emergency nurse (CEN), an ENPC Provider, ACLS and BLS Instructor.
