David A. Westman, MBA
Executive Director

David Westman assumed the position of Executive Director on August 16, 2004. Prior to then, Westman was a Managing Director in the areas of Strategy & Human Capital and Not-for-Profit Consulting with RSM McGladrey, Inc., in Schaumburg, Illinois. He worked with numerous health care associations with regard to Board of Director effectiveness, benchmarking, business strategy development, compensation program development, and general human resources management. Prior to joining RSM McGladrey, he was a consultant for KPMG, LLP, Chicago, where he was responsible for marketing and managing a wide variety of consulting engagements with over 100 clients in numerous industries.

Westman has authored numerous articles on performance improvement topics that have appeared in national and regional magazines and newspapers. He is also a frequent speaker at meetings of professional associations and societies.

A graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with a triple major, he was valedictorian and was selected to give the commencement address. In 1989 he was awarded his MBA from the University of Chicago, with a focus in Finance and Marketing. He passed the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) examination in 1992 and received the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 1984. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Association Forum of Chicagoland, the National Association of Corporate Directors, the National Association for Employee Recognition, and WorldAtWork..

Westman has previously been involved with many community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Civic League, and Junior Achievement. He is a Past President of the Rockford Jaycees.
