Occupational Violence

Des Plaines, Ill. – April 12, 2013 — The 2014 ENA President Deena Brecher, MSN, RN, APRN, ACNS-BC, CEN, CPEN, and Board Director Karen Wiley, MSN, RN, CEN, will represent the Emergency Nurses Association as invited speakers at the “Facing Challenges and Responses in Guideline of Occupational Violence in the Health Sector in Times of Uncertainty” conference in Chihuahua, Mexico, April 12 – 13. The conference is being held by the Barra de Colegio de Enfermeria de Chihuahua XXXIII Congreso Internacional Multidisciplinario (Bar Association of Nursing in Chihuahua AC XXXIII Anniversary International Multidisciplinary Congress)

Brecher and Wiley will participate on a panel discussing the topic of violence in hospitals and how nurses can work jointly to prevent violence. Brecher and Wiley will also present individual educational sessions during the conference, where attendees will include nursing leaders, emergency medical services personnel, law enforcement and hospital security workers from throughout Mexico.
