Statement to the Membership
I have witnessed remarkable growth in ENA throughout my membership as the organization continued to provide emergency nurses with the means to meet educational needs that address the foremost issues and concerns related to emergency nursing and health care today. The Emergency Nurses Association, a member-driven organization, cares for its future.

Leadership in the Emergency Nurses Association has been demonstrated throughout all levels of the organization. ENA provides encouragement and support to its membership by "fostering professional pride, confidence and a community of support for emergency nurses across the country" advocating the championed component of our strategic plan. I believe this statement is what makes ENA the flourishing professional member organization that it is today.

For me, it was through this type of leadership, my personal growth, and the determination to preserve this organization as "member-driven" that I authored and presented the 2009 bylaw amendment on delegate allocation to the General Assembly. The increasing membership, financial issues both nationally and state-wide, had brought concerns on how we, the ENA organization, were going to maintain an active engaged delegation. Accordingly, the voting delegation of members, the governing body of ENA that provides direction and stewardship for the organization, allowed me the opportunity as a member to have my voice herd echoing the concerns we all had, working out a solution and adopting the amendment. This was one issue that was brought forward as a result of our ENA members’ passion for our organization.

As a result of the bylaw initiative, I have had the honor of connecting with other members, meeting state leaders at conferences and developing endearing friendships. It is these types of relationships and the encouragement and mentoring that I have received from ENA members across this country that have reinforced my desire to serve this organization on the national level as a member of the Nominations Committee. I want to assure the membership of my sincerity to remain fair and impartial to the nominations and election process.

As a devoted member of this organization please consider me as your leader, representing you the member, on the Nominations Committee.
