Statement to the Membership I have been an active member of ENA since 1996. I have had the honor to serve in various elected and appointed capacities at the local, state, and national levels. In the capacity of New Jersey Council immediate past president, I was directly responsible for overseeing the electoral process, ensuring that a fair and competent selection of candidates was presented to the voting body.
I am running for the Nominations Committee because I believe that members of this committee should strive to solicit candidates from various regions who have demonstrated the ability to lead based on their experiences in emergency nursing and not the amount of degrees they may have after their names.
I believe the current leadership of ENA needs to remember that most nurses in the organization are "worker bees" and are not so much interested in how many degrees the prospective candidate has, but if they have the ability to represent emergency nurses who are working in the trenches on a daily basis.
If elected, I will do my part to make sure that the slate of candidates presented to the voting members will always come from various educational backgrounds, have the ability to lead, and can effectively represent all the hard working nurses of this organization.
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to serve you on this very important committee and look forward to your support. Back to top |
