Statement to the Membership
The Nominations Committee is of vital importance to ENA. The vision, innovation and commitment of our elected leaders from our membership ensure ENA’s continued recognition internationally and as a leader among nursing organizations. I feel I can contribute to the many goals of the committee but feel especially qualified in meeting the goals of seeking out, educating and mentoring potential candidates and promoting voter participation. I am creative and enjoy problem solving. I listen well and am open to other ideas and opinions.
In my professional life, I have had the privilege of serving in our Armed Forces for 24 years; traveling throughout the world and holding many different roles in emergency and trauma departments.
My jobs, plus my involvement in ENA, gives me the opportunity to experience emergency nursing at many different levels and allows me to meet many emergency department staff. I enjoy the varied perspectives and seek the input of nurses and physicians on all the challenges facing us in health care and especially in emergency care. We in the emergency arena are committed to delivering the best care as well as demonstrating our individual concern for our patients in these challenging times. These life experiences, as well as being actively involved in the Washington State Council for over 20 years, make me appreciate our differences as well as our common goals.
On a personal note, I am an unfailing Pollyanna, love to laugh, and constantly take in strays. My current collection of cats and dogs is three and three respectively. Oh, and one cat that is not mine but comes in anyway. I like to travel, enjoy a good joke or book and live theatre. I even occasionally plan the renovations to my old house when I win the lottery!
Participating in General Assemblies has induced me to seek further involvement within our organization. Your support in my bid for election to the ENA Nominations Committee for Region 1 will help me realize this goal. Back to top

Platform Statement
I strongly support ENA’s strategic framework of expanding and fortifying our membership. As your elected Nominations Committee representative I will become further involved in the emergency nursing community by seeking, educating, encouraging and being a resource for potential candidates.
