Position Statement
What attribute is essential to enhance ENA’s mission of Safe Practice and Safe Care?
The essential attribute to enhance ENA’s mission of safe practice and safe care is the ability to look at all aspects of our practice in a holistic way. Just as holistic nursing encompasses the physical, mental, and socioeconomic aspects of our patients’ care, these same powers of observation and analysis can be used to take a fresh look at our professional organization.

Statement to Membership
Change is coming in 2015 with the termination of the Leadership Conference. This format has been intertwined with the ENA nominations and elections process for many years. Now is the perfect time for an examination of the interdependence of the nominations, campaigning and electing processes; this will be critical to a successful transition.
As a candidate for the Nominations Committee, I bring my 30 year membership in ENA, my credentials as a parliamentarian, and my experience of several years on the Resolutions Committee. I believe my varied experiences give me a unique perspective to take a holistic view to help develop ways to ensure fair elections and maximum participation by the members.
