STATEMENT TO THE MEMBERSHIP
Thank you for the honor of considering me as a candidate for your 2014 President-elect. Emergency Nursing is ever changing as we all stand together to promote safe patient and family centered care during what are often the most devastating circumstances in one’s life. The leadership in our association is in your hands. We need to stand together to become part of the solution as nurses and leaders on the front lines. There are many changes coming in healthcare and emergency nursing. As change is inevitable, I want to partner with you to lead the tenets of our strategic plan with a goal to make our organizational changes as comfortable and clear as possible. In my role as president-elect, I will work diligently to prepare for the role of your president and continue to promote an international presence, partner with other specialty organizations, improve course operations with new products, honor our members with specialty awards and recognition, increase free on-line continuing education, focus on emergency research, recognize our sponsors, highlight committee results and increase member benefits and opportunities. I hope you will help me promote a collective team approach to ideas between members, staff and your board. Our members deserve to have the tools, information and collective decision making power as we move into a new era of healthcare. I have had the opportunity to engage with you, the most phenomenal, caring individuals following the passion of emergency nursing care and I truly thank all of you for your faith, trust, friendship and support. I congratulate you for taking care of our patients and families and for your professional interest in your careers as an emergency nurse. In today’s’ healthcare market, patients and families are and will be our priority. It is important that we listen to and take care of those who care for our patients. It would be a grand privilege to be your president and represent your voice for all emergency nursing. Let us communicate, share ideas and collaborate with others who meet the demand of emergency focused patient care. As your president, all member ideas welcomed.
