STATEMENT TO THE MEMBERSHIP I desire to serve on the board of directors of Emergency Nurses Association in order to represent the members. As a full time emergency department staff nurse, I have a special understanding of what our members go through on a daily basis and will take that knowledge and awareness into every board of directors meeting that I attend.
At work, it takes teamwork in order for our departments to run smoothly and effectively. In the same manner, it takes all of us, from the stretcher side nurse to the masters or doctoral prepared nurse, to run our organization effectively. Board members are not to be in competition with one another but must collaborate as a team, working together for the good of the organization. I believe the more diverse our board of directors, the more healthy our organization.
I am dedicated member of ENA and believe that doing the right thing is important. I believe that my willingness to serve in the role of a director is the right thing. Those that worked beside me during my previous two terms on the board of directors know that I am open to ideas, and can be persuaded to change my mind. At the same time, I have been known to stick to my guns and will stand my ground if it is the right thing for our members. My values have not changed since I became active at the state and national level.
My involvement in ENA has made me a better nurse. I believe this organization provides the educational opportunities for all its members to become stronger emergency department nurses. I would like to serve in the role of board member in order to share my knowledge, understanding and expertise. I also want to share the member’s viewpoint, needs and desires, so feel free to contact me and let us talk. I hope that you will consider supporting me by voting for me in this election. Thank you.
